Scientist Turned Cake Artist
Dr. Lincoln ‘L’ Alexander developed an appetite for cake artistry from a young age. His mother was an avid baker and operated a small cake baking and decorating business out of their family home. As a child, L. Alexander would sit on the kitchen floor and admire his mother’s baking as she would mix up delicious tasting confections all from memory. Often, she would invite him to tinker in many of her cake decorating projects. Unbeknown to him, this childhood admiration would influence his creativity in the culinary arts as a young adult.
At age fifteen, L. was designing and decorating cakes for local community members, including government officials. By the time he graduated college, he had delivered over fifty custom cakes in five states and three countries.
Over the next two decades, L. would graduate with four more degrees including two masters degrees and a doctorate in public health. He established a career as a public health scientist and professor and began to raise a family. Meanwhile his passion for cake artistry never diminished. Throughout the years, he continued to design and outfit custom cakes for weddings and major corporate events.
L. L.'s creations are not only jaw dropping, they are delicious tasting, too! In 2021, Wedding Day Magazine named Flour House Cakes & Co. one of the 'Top Bakeries in the Midwest' and the historic baking and decorating GIANT, Wilton Cakes, featured L. Alexander and his phenomenal creations.
L. Alexander appeared on Disney's food art competition show, FOODTASTIC (streaming on Disney+), where he and his team took home the Season 1 Episode 6 Championship!! Their life-size creation was also featured on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon!
